Beginning

This is new for me.

I've never been one to blog, although I am probably one of the few left who still keeps a diary. Irrelevant as that is.

The point of this is to express myself. To stretch my creative muscles so to speak. I will write nonstop for five minutes--in pen to discourage erasing--and then I will either post what I wrote or say it into a camera. Maybe both. I will also on occasion give two minute monologues of basically the same thing except I will be speaking my thoughts instead of writing them. I only recently got the idea to post these, and you will be able to tell by the videos that it was all done in the same day, but I do want to keep this up. For my sanity if nothing else.

However, this is not only about me. I do worry sometimes about the lost creative souls inside all of us. Originality seems to be getting rarer and rarer these day and that truly saddens me. Of course, as a history buff I know that this is all part of the Golden Age phenomenon in which people believe thing were better way back when while in reality things rarely ever really change. Regardless, creativity is important, and everyone is capable of it. Which is why five minute fiction is so good--it forces you to be creative. If you do it correctly and you do not allow yourself to stop writing no matter what nonsense seems to be coming out, you are being creative.

I have made three videos today, although I will not post them all tonight because I think that would be a bit excessive. One is only an introduction video and I am still deliberating whether I should post that one or not, but I will post my five minute fiction--even if only as proof that I am doing this.

Please, do it along with me. I would still do this on my own, but I would by lying if I said it wouldn't be nice to have others join me.

Note: I do not always create things that are gloomy, so don't worry about that. It all just depends on the mood of the day. I don't think these out beforehand, I just let it pour out of me.
Also remember: this is fiction
